Key Stage 4
Year 10 & 11 (Ages 14 – 16)
Welcome to
Key Stage 4
Key Stage 4 is designed to build upon students’ experiences in KS3, and prepare them for the sixth form and beyond. In KS4, students begin to make choices about their education and future direction, supported by our dedicated careers counsellor. They follow a range of (International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) subjects over the 2 years, and during this time they are encouraged and supported to become more independent in their learning.
KS4 students enjoy a wide range of activities, trips and opportunities for self-discovery beyond the classroom – in sports, the Arts, debating, community service and more, and they are encouraged to immerse themselves in school life, taking part in as many activities as possible. This breadth of experiences enables them to build a portfolio of interests and achievements as they move through their IGCSEs, into A Levels and beyond. The student experience is underpinned by our core values; students are expected to play a greater role in modelling these values to our younger learners and to continually strive to capitalise on opportunities to further develop and refine these attributes.
KS4 students are supported by their dedicated tutor, who is always the first port of call for parents. Their wider support network includes their Head of Key Stage, as well as our school counsellor and careers counsellor.
